Description
"Ile d'Ogoz" is a small island in Lake Gruyere that can be reached by rowboat and in the spring even on foot, when the water level has receded. This island is the site of a ruined castle with two mighty towers and a chapel. There are also the remains of a little town dating from the 13th century which was flooded when the Saane dam was built in 1947. Today the island with the restored chapel is a popular venue for events and weddings.
