Ice baths - 3 days to boost your cold resistance
Overview
Intro
Three winter days at Schwarzsee featuring guided icy dips, cold-weather hikes, breathing exercises and resilience training—perfect for beginners.
What does one feel when standing in front of a hole in the ice of Schwarzsee, in the heart of winter? How can one remain calm when the body craves warmth? And what lessons can be taken from this experience for everyday life? For three days, the winter landscape around Schwarzsee becomes a training ground for learning to manage the cold mindfully. In collaboration with the KÄLTENETZWERK, the group approaches this experience step by step: through a cold hike, breathing exercises, and meditation, preparing the hole in the ice, and finally, a guided ice bath in the mountain lake. Participants learn how the body reacts to the cold and how breathing, focus, and targeted warming help manage this intense situation. This weekend is suitable for those with no experience in the cold, seasoned practitioners, and cold therapy professionals alike. Guides who prefer not to enter the water can also participate. The principle of “no obligation—each at their own pace” allows attendees to skip certain activities and enjoy the weekend at their own rhythm. Between cold exposure sessions, the Chalet Aurore, located by the shores of Schwarzsee, offers a warm counterbalance: shared vegetarian meals and moments of exchange are just as much a part of the weekend as the moments of solitude. The Chalet Aurore is located by the shores of Schwarzsee, about a five-minute walk from the “Schwarzsee Gypsera” bus stop. Paid parking spaces are available near Gypsera.
