Alpine Bike
Overview
Intro
The Alpine Bike route begins with the Costainas Pass, a classic mountain bike route and the cross-over from Scuol to Val Müstair, right on the first stage.
Description
The first stage of the Alpine Bike route begins with a thunderbolt. Climbing through the delightful Val S-charl up to Pass da Costainas is a classic and there is good reason for it. The valley is as charming as one could expect, accompanied by the constant burbling of crystal-clear Clemgia creek, and just before the top, the trail passes through a sea of mountain pine.
The fast downhill run to Val Müstair on a gravel road later on, always in view of the snow-covered Ortler mountain, is easy and pleasant. The map shows some small trails between Pass Costainas and Tschierv, the day’s destination. The trails are all easily doable by bike, although they are not marked as such.
The path that is marked as a mountain bike route makes for a more leisurely descent. It passes through Lü, a small jewel of a mountain village where you might stop for some refreshments. A small gravel path then leads quickly to Tschierv, the day’s destination.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
