Magical Swiss Autumn
Intro
«There’s something special about travelling in the off-season, and Switzerland in autumn feels like a dream wrapped in golden light and crisp mountain air, where every lane and lakeside reflection feels calm and full of life. Autumn in Switzerland is truly one of the most magical times to explore the country.»
Magical Times
This is how Emilie, an Australian travel photographer, published author, and the creative mind behind @helloemilie, describes the magic of our Swiss Autumn. Join her on a 12-days journey aboard Switzerland’s world-class public transport, the kind of experience that turns travel itself into part of the adventure.
The Journey
The journey began in Zurich, where streets and riversides shimmered in autumnal light. Golden leaves crunched beneath our feet, roasted chestnuts filled the air, and centuries-old architecture glowed softly in the season. Even in a city, the sense of quiet magic was tangible. Stepping aboard the trains and boats that connect Switzerland’s regions, the journey itself became part of the adventure.
From the panoramic GoldenPass Express and the historic Gornergrat Railway to the scenic Gotthard Panorama Express, each journey showcased Switzerland at its most stunning, offering travellers unparalleled views of mountains, lakes, and forests draped in autumn colours.
