Fear Training – Overcoming fears while hiking

Do you know this feeling? Just before the section with the wire cable, your knees go weak, your steps get shorter, and the way back suddenly seems like the only sensible idea. Sure-footedness isn’t a talent you either have or don’t have. You can train it just like any other technique on the mountain. That’s exactly what we do on these two guided hiking days for 1 to 4 people. Out in the open on real mountain trails, with plenty of time and no pressure to perform. Day 1: Basics We start in easy terrain with exercises for balance and body tension. You’ll learn how to place your foot securely, where to look, how trekking poles give you support, and how to assess the terrain correctly. Then we move step by step onto slightly more exposed paths. Breaks are expressly allowed. Turning back is too, by the way. Day 2: Putting it into practice On a new route, you’ll apply what you’ve learned and notice how much more natural your steps feel. At the end, we’ll discuss what to keep in mind on your next hikes. The goal isn’t for you to be dancing along narrow ridges at the end. It’s for you to be able to plan the hikes you want to do with a good feeling again. Ideal for anyone who has so far felt like they’ve been struggling through mountain hikes rather than enjoying them.
