Bob Run
Overview
Intro
The classic sledge run in Mürren that made film history: In 1969, part of the classic Bond film «On Her Majesty’s Secret Service» was filmed on the infamous «Bob Run».
Description
Whizz down the slope where James Bond himself had a thrilling battle on the snow track with his bobsleigh. Above Mürren, high above the Lauterbrunnen valley, you can follow in the tracks of the on-screen hero.
The start is at Allmendhubel, Mürren’s very own “mini” mountain next to the famous Schilthorn summit. Those who want to skip the strenuous uphill climb can reach the hilltop via the cable car. A must before setting off on your sledge: Enjoy the panoramic view over the three huge mountains, Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. There is also a playground for the little ones, which is also open in winter.
The sledge run descends evenly from Allmendhubel and through Blumental. Travelling through snowy forests, you will reach the mountain village of Mürren, which has no cars, and the valley station of the Allmendhubel funicular railway.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
