Visit an alpine cheese factory
Overview
Intro
A guided tour to the alpine cheese factory with the famous Hérens cows. The visitor is given the chance to learn how summer life unfolds in the alpine pastures in the canton of Wallis.
Participate in the cheese-making process; learn the processes and techniques used to produce a Valais Alpine Raclette cheese. The visitor can also discover the famous Herens cow in the alpine pastures, well-known for its cow fighting and aggressive character.
You will get a lot of explanations of how a pasture is running, how the milking is done and how cheese is made. This is the perfect opportunity to taste local products such as tomme cheese, herb cheese or milk. The tours are held in French, German or English, depending on the origin of the guests. For more comfort, the maximum number of participants is limited to 20.
Upon request, we can organize this activity for groups on another day and / or at another time.
