From the Hulfteggpass , the trail leads down into the tiny village of Mühlrüti, from where it climbs again and leads past the legend-shrouded vantage point of St. Iddaburg. At Wurenholz the Höhenweg merges with the Thurweg and ends at the famous abbey town of Wil.

From the Residence of the Principality of Liechtenstein, the romantic Grüscha Way leads through the Princely Forest to the panoramic Walser high-altitude village of Triesenberg and then via the hamlet of Rotaboda back to Vaduz.

This circular hike starts in Stein am Rhein and initially follows the left bank of the Rhine via the former Wagenhausen Priory to Heimishofen railway bridge, built in 1875. Hikers return on the opposite bank to the small mediaeval town of Stein am Rhein with its nostalgic ambience.

In the Blauburgunderland at Hallau, the high-level trail leads over the three-armed Randen hill chain, through extensive forests, along the Swiss-German border. Wonderful views from Randen tower into the neighbouring country and from Randenhaus to the Alps.

The varied Ellhorn hike offers surprising views of the villages on both sides of the Rhine and of the surrounding mountains. The flowering pastures in the Elltal valley are just as charming as the paths high above the Rhine.

Firstly, along the Klöntalersee reservoir surrounded by steep rock faces. A decent to Glarus then follows - From the dam of the artificial lake through a narrow valley with steep rock faces and imposing boulders lapped by the bubbling Löntsch waters.

The Sernftal valley with the striking Glarus overthrust is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Tectonic Arena Sardona. Leave this impressive area by following an extensive route over the Richetli Pass. Following the steep ascent, you arrive in the Durnachtal valley and then the largest village in the Glarus – Linthal.

The hiking trail up in the heights that leads through the heart of Schaffhausen's Blauburgunderland. The route goes along a mountain ridge that extends to the southeast. The focus of this route is the Mediterranean-like views of the vineyards of Blauburgunderland.

In the footsteps of the Romans along an old natural-stone wall to Wildhaus. Over an elevated terrace with top views beneath the Kreuzberge and a fable trail with many anecdotes. The sunny terrace of Wildhaus with Schönenbodensee lake.

From Elm the ViaSuworow continues over the Panixer pass, which led to Suvorov's troops suffering disastrous losses in the snow. The route leads through the Jetzbachschlucht gorge up to the pass and then over alp Mer and alp Ranasca down to Pigniu.

On this tour you can enjoy a splendid panorama of St Gallen, with its abbey that was registered as a UNESCO world cultural heritage site in 1983. In summer, the Art Nouveau Drei Weieren swimming baths entice bathers to take a cool dip.

This loop trail leads through the many scattered settlements on Weissenberge, a sunny mountain terrace in the Glarus region.

With Vaduz, the compact «Ländle» – as local people like to call the Principality of Liechtenstein – boasts a prestigious capital city. This is the start of an outstanding route that stretches as far as Balzers.

The route in Canton Glarus takes you from Schwanden to Netstal, through a broad and open valley surrounded by lush greenery and rugged mountain scenery. A route offering pure tranquillity and relaxation.

According to the well-known geologist Albert Heim (1849-1937), the Alpstein is perhaps «the most beautiful mountain range in the world». On this trail you will discover that the alpine landscape located in front of the Alpstein is just as appealing.

From the modern Spitzmeilenhütte (hut) with fabulous views of the Churfirsten/Alvier group through the colourful Triassic landscape of the high plateau of Fans. The view across the little Chammseeli lake to the Triassic series on Schnüerligrat is fascinating.

The aerial cableway takes you to the departure point at Eggen. After a short ascent you reach the Storegg, a pass from Nidwalden to Obwalden. Along the mountain flank and through a wild, craggy area and on to Frutt.

Across the lake to Mediterranean Quinten, at the foot of the Churfirsten. Narrow paths secured by forest and ropes to Betlis. At 585m, Seerenbach waterfall is Switzerland’s highest. Over steep root-covered paths and filigree hanging bridges to hotspot Amden.

Start at Bad Ragaz, where thermal waters have bubbled since 1840. Freudenberg ruins, open to the public, then a long ascent in light mixed forest, with magnificent views of the Rhine Valley and Graubunden’s mountain world. Over seven bridges to Garschlu.

The second section leads from the glacial Verrucano landscape, reminiscent of Scandinavia, to the grassy, sunny slopes of the Glarnerland Mülibachtal valley, then on to the Liasfalten (Lias thrusts) at Magerrain and past the gypsum phenomenon at Wissmeilen.

Beneath the eastern Churfirst peaks, the upland moor landscape forms a large alp with the Ölberg the highest point on the Rheintaler-Höhenweg. Rock faces dominate the horizon. In a striking basin: Voralp with Voralpsee lake and show dairy.

A tough climb to Stöcklichrüz and a superb high-level hike around the northern end of Sihlsee lake to Einsiedeln. The St. Meinrads Chapel on Etzelpass and the house where Paracelsus was born are popular resting places, not just for pilgrims.

The Rhine Falls are the centrepiece of this circular hike. It starts from Laufen Castle, towering majestically above the Rhine Falls – unperturbed by the immense force of the waters that rage below it. We descend straight to the water's edge, cross the bridge to the other side and start climbing again opposite the castle.

The hike from Weinfelden to Frauenfeld leads between Thur and Lauche over the Wellenberg. Passing interesting buildings, the trail arrives at the well-known Stälibuck view tower by Frauenfeld, which provides a splendid panoramic view on clear days.

In the Canada-like Oberseetal valley, a family-friendly circular trail with some great views leads through a picturesque landscape with pinewood forests and lush meadows.

Starting at the Horgen fountain, the way leads alongside the lake, with numerous possibilities to take a break, a swim or light a fire underway. Highlight on this leg is the Halbinsel Au with its castle, park and natural pond– a real sight to see!

From Sücka along the ridgeback. The trail leads up over the rocky ridge of the Drei Schwestern, with breathtaking views of the Rhine Valley, the Alps of Eastern Switzerland and Vorarlberg (Austria).

A circular tour from Bad Ragaz taking in the mystical secrets of the Tamina Gorge. At Altes Bad Pfäfers: visit to the thermal spring grotto with hot water. Return across an impressive natural bridge to Pfäfers village, along the Porta Romana and past the Wartenstein ruins. Rhine bank path back to Bad Ragaz railway station.

Chrüzegg offers spectacular views of the Zürichsee lake, the Glarus Aps and Alpstein as far as the Bodensee (Lake Constance). The Schnebelhorn, the highest mountain in Canton Zürich (1292m), has to be scaled before the stage ends at Hulftegg.

From Rorschach with large granary dating from 1749 and quay up to Wartensee Castle with the best views over the Bodensee. The Grimmenstein ruins on the next row of hills keeps an eye on the lively variety in compact Ostschweiz.
