Spectacular Journeys in Chur

The journey through Chur starts at a leisurely pace. However, shortly after the city borders, the red train turns into a mountain railway steeply ascending to Arosa (1,775 m a.s.l.).

130 kilometres in one train. The Albula/Bernina railway line forms the heart of the Unesco World Cultural Heritage listing and is regarded as one of the world’s most spectacular routes. The UNESCO route itself covers 122 kilometres from Thusis to Tirano, passing 196 bridges, 55 tunnels and 20 towns along the way.

From a stroll around the old town to the hiking trail, the city of Chur, with its local mountain Brambrüesch, has nature right on its doorstep. Hiking trails, meadows filled with flowers and cycling routes can all be reached in no time at all via cable car.
