Hobärghorn (4,219m a.s.l)
Intro
The Hobärghorn is part of the Nadelgrat (needle ridge), a popular crossing route and one of the most beautiful in the Alps. Mostly, mount climbers set off from the Dom Hut.
Those crossing the Nadelgrat ridge in the middle of the Mischabel group will often also make it to the top of the Hobärghorn. The peak of this mountain giant is largely covered in firn. To the north, it is home to the Ried Glacier, while it has a rock face to the south. The best way to get to the Hobärghorn is from the Dom Hut. The Nadelgrat traverse, a climbing route that includes the Hobärghorn, is one of the most beautiful ridge travers in the Alps. This 4,219m peak was first climbed by R.B. Heathcote in 1869.
