Ernst Kretschmer presents his two-volume work «Spiegelschriften», which brings together 50 literary texts from five centuries connected with the Lake Maggiore region.
Content
The reading follows the Swiss and Italian shores and highlights authors such as Hemingway, Hesse, Kästner, Remarque, Frisch, Spyri and Dario Fo. It focuses on their stays, their texts and the places that shaped their writing.
About the author
Born in 1951, Ernst Kretschmer studied German literature, history, philosophy and comparative literature. He taught at several Italian universities and was Professor of Linguistics in Modena/Reggio Emilia from 2005 to 2018. He received the Kasseler Literaturpreis für grotesken Humor for his studies on Christian Morgenstern and nonsense literature. He now lives above Maccagno on Lake Maggiore.
