Hope Solo | Zwischen Himmel und Erde
Overview
Intro
Daniel Hope opens an intense, almost meditative sound space with his solo program: an inner dialogue for solo violin, shaped by Westhoff's baroque boldness and Biber's mystical breath.
A solo program for violin – this always involves looking inward, a moment that requires courage. Especially when, as here, it combines the highest art with quite "earthly" challenges. At the same time, a nearly mystical breath unfolds in this program – just think of the Rosary Sonatas by Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber. Daniel Hope tells his story with the voice of his Guarneri del Gesù. Like Menuhin once did, Hope also dedicates himself to the works of Westhoff, the presumed model for Bach's sonatas and partitas, and the stubbornly individualistic Biber. An artistic dialogue spanning generations – full of depth, virtuosity, and personal resonance.
