Die Sammlungspräsentation gleicht einem visuellen Verwandtschaftstreffen: Selbstporträts von Kunstschaffenden begegnen Darstellungen von Müttern, Onkeln und Cousinen. Wie porträtieren Kunstschaffende sich selbst – und wie jene, die ihnen nahestehen? Wir stossen auf malende Brüder, Bauernfamilien und Werke aus vier Generationen. Doch Verwandtschaften finden sich nicht nur in Familien, sondern auch zwischen Werken. Sie können sich formal, motivisch oder technisch ähnlich sein, über Zeiten und Gattungen hinweg. Die Ausstellung zeigt spannungsvolle und harmonische Konstellationen – wie in mancher Familie.
