정물화(Nature morte)
프랑스 물리학자 가브리엘 리프만(Gabriel Lippmann)은 방사선을 중심으로 광학 분야에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 그의 연구는 간섭사진의 발명으로 이어졌는데, 어떤 면으로는 홀로그래피와 유사한 방법이라 할 수 있다. 1908년 리프만은 이 컬러 사진 프로세스의 발명을 인정 받아 노벨 물리학상을 받게 된다.
