The Stadtkirche Biel is appreciated for its well-balanced proportions and the simplicity of the interior.
원래 빌(Biel)에 있는 도시교회는 누르시아(Nursia)의 성 베네딕트에게 봉헌되었으며, 1228년 처음으로 로잔 특허장에 언급되었다. 도시 빌은 1798년까지 바젤의 주교 지휘권 하에 있었으나, 1528년부터 개혁(Reformation) 시점까지 로잔 주교의 관할인 주교 관구에 속하였다.
