Intro

Although the Strahlhorn is technically on the easier side, it requires an extremely high level of fitness. It sits in the Valais Alps, above Saas-Fee.

Самое главное

Those in the know recommend Strahlhorn for less experienced climbers of four-thousanders. From a purely technical perspective, this may be the case. But an extremely high level of fitness is required to make the long ascent, as well as the long descent afterwards. The route up to the top starts off at the Britannia Hut, above Saas-Fee in Valais. Then it takes climbers via the Hohlaub Glacier and the Allalin Glacier over the Adler Pass, up to an altitude of 4,190 metres above sea level on the mountain’s peak. By the way, the name comes from the shape of the mountain, which radiates outwards (“strahlen” is the German for “shine” or “radiate”).

Climbing four-thousander summits requires good physical health, meticulous preparation and technical skills in mountain sports. We recommend booking a mountain guide. Switzerland Tourism accepts no liability in this case.
