Marionette "Wache, aus König Hirsch"
Marionettes don’t have to be human. Swiss Dadaist Sophie Taeuber-Arp drastically changed the traditional role of marionettes. She created seventeen marionettes according to constructivist design, none of them representing a miniature human figure. The premiere of the tragicomic fairy tale “The Stag King” took place at the 1918 Exhibition of Swiss Craftspeople in Zurich.
