Cyanotype on fabric
Overview
Intro
In cyanotype on fabric, a light-sensitive solution is applied to textiles such as cotton or linen.
After drying, motifs can be exposed directly onto the fabric with UV light - for example with plants, everyday objects or foil negatives.
In contrast to paper, the result on fabric is softer and often more irregular - which is precisely what makes it so attractive. Every fabric reacts differently, the structure influences the image. This creates individual prints with their own feel and charisma.
In the culture lab, we experiment with different fabrics, types of exposure and post-treatments, e.g. with tea or soap. It's not about perfect results, but about trying things out, creating and understanding. Cyanotype on fabric is simple, creative and fun - even without previous knowledge.
Slowly stands for this approach: slow, curious and open to what emerges in the process.
Participation is free, only the consumables are charged. Max. 5 people.
