Intro
End-of-season concert with the Microcosme Ensemble
The final concert of the Nyon Classique season features the Ensemble Microcosme performing as a string orchestra in a programme entitled ‘Splendours of the Strings’.
The programme features works united by a shared quest for melodic richness: Elgar’s Serenade for Strings, Barber’s moving Adagio, Warlock’s Capriol Suite, and Grieg’s Holberg Suite, followed by two Nordic melodies by the composer.
An intense musical moment, where the colours of the strings reveal the full beauty of the repertoire, carried in particular by the poetry of Grieg’s Nordic compositions.
