Swiss Cheese Awards with a Cheese and Specialty Market

From October 10 to 11, 2026, Fribourg’s Burgquartier will become a gathering place for all lovers of Swiss cheese. The 14th Swiss Cheese Awards will culminate in a delightful and family-friendly weekend. Visitors can look forward to a large market featuring cheese and regional products, with cheese specialties from all over Switzerland. Producers will showcase their products, invite visitors to sample them, and offer insights into their craft. The event will be complemented by numerous activities, games, fun, and opportunities to explore Swiss cheese culture.

The festivities take place in the historic Burgquartier district of Fribourg and offer the ideal opportunity to experience Swiss cheese culture in all its diversity.

The Swiss Cheese Awards are the Swiss championship of the cheese industry. During the week of the event, an international jury of around 200 experts evaluates more than 1,000 cheeses from all over Switzerland and selects the best products in 33 categories, as well as three Swiss Champions. The awards stand for quality, craftsmanship, tradition, innovation, and the extraordinary diversity of Swiss cheese.

Whether you’re a cheese connoisseur, a food lover, or a family on a discovery tour, the Swiss Cheese Awards invite you to a weekend full of flavor, new encounters, and a passion for Swiss cheese.
