Tank Day

The museum at the Diessenhofen Armory displays its tanks, whenever possible, either in motion or stationary. The unique collection of 21 tanks—all of which were once in service with the Swiss Army and are still roadworthy today—tells the story of the “mechanization of the Swiss Army,” beginning with the Panzerwagen 39 “Praga” and extending to the Panzer 87 “Leopard” and the M-109 KAWEST self-propelled howitzer. These tanks are valuable historical witnesses to the resistance during the Cold War.

Tanks in Motion

Various tanks drive around the grounds of the Museum at the Diessenhofen Armory. These drives are accompanied by commentary.

Tanks Up Close

Additional tanks are on display in the hall. Knowledgeable museum staff are on hand to provide explanations to visitors.
