Stores
In general, most stores are open Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m..
Many stores are closed on Sundays. However, stores are open at train stations, airports and gas stations.

Banks and money exchange
Large cities: Monday to Friday 08:30 to 16:30, Saturday closed. Rural areas: Monday to Friday 08.30 to 12.00 and 14.00 to 16.30/17.30, Saturday closed.

In major business centers, counters sometimes remain open through lunchtime.
There are exchange offices at airports and train stations. These are open from 06.00 to 21.00, often until 23.00.

Authorities and offices
This varies from canton to canton and from region to region. It is worth checking the opening hours beforehand. Most are open from Monday to Friday from 08.00 to 12.00 and 14.00 to 16.30/17.00.

Post Offices
Post offices are usually open from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 18:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. In more rural areas, it may also be closed over lunch.
