Le Sentier

Surrounded by the Vaudois mountains, rivers, lakes and forests, Le Sentier is the most populous village in the Vallée de Joux with 3,000 inhabitants. The village and the surrounding area have been an important showcase for the watchmaking industry since the 18th century.
Le Sentier is located at around 1,000m a.s.l. and is particularly appealing due to its proximity to nature, Geneva Airport and the cultural offerings, as well as the watchmaking industry that characterises the entire Vallée de Joux. The coat of arms of Le Sentier — depicting both a golden cogwheel and a trumpet — also illustrates how culture and industry are intertwined here. Thanks to its wide range of sports, cultural and educational activities, the small village has a great deal to offer both in summer and in winter.
