The idyllic Zurich Oberland is not far from Zurich. In the heart of this hiking and cycling area lies not only the highest mountain in the Canton of Zurich, but also the highest waterfall.
The expansive unspoiled landscape extends from Lake Greifen and Lake Pfäffikon all the way to Tössbergland. Here towers the Schnebelhorn, the highest mountain in the Canton of Zurich at 1,292m, closely followed by the Bachtel and Hörnli, which are both more than 1,100m. From these peaks, hikers and cyclists can enjoy the mountain panorama across Zurich Oberland all the way to the Alps. Take a well-deserved break afterwards in one of the many mountain inns.
There is also no shortage of culture and history in Zurich Oberland. Those interested in culture can explore the former textile stronghold of the 18th century, visit different museums or discover palaces, churches, castles, monasteries and convents.
