The Stafelalp’s wooden terrace is a place where you could sit all day long. On snowy days, the inside of the restaurant, flooded with light, and the see-through fireplace in the middle of the room put the many regular visitors in a jovial mood.

Description
Ambience:
The mountain restaurant is part of the Romantik Hotel Julen. All chairs, inside as well as outside, are covered with sheepskin blankets, and for those fearless exhibitionists there is also a Jacuzzi at the side of the slope. For many years, the Julen family has looked after their guests, in two generations and with casual charm, and have done an amazing job. The views are also extraordinary, as they are less into the distance and more up to the sky. The north face of the Matterhorn has nowhere been more imposing than here. Prior booking is definitely recommended.
Location:
Located at an altitude of 2,200 m directly below the Matterhorn north face, on the ski run No. 52, from Schwarzsee (i.e. Hirli) to Furi.
Cuisine:
Rösti and pasta variations, cheese and dried meat platters, hay soup, beef carpaccio with arugula salad and truffle shavings, mixed salad plate with goat’s cheese, cheese fondue, home-reared lamb delicacies, hot stone dishes with bison, beef fillet or tuna. The big hit among the desserts is the tarte tatin with vanilla ice-cream. The Julens family love their wines: all dishes are complemented by only the finest wines from near and far, from glass to magnum.
