Intro

In the middle of the Vallée de La Brévine, just half an hour from La Chaux-de-Fonds, lies the picturesque Lac des Taillères. The lake is impressive all year round, with an atmosphere that changes with the seasons and that touch of Jura magic, combining landscape with nature.

La Brévine لمحة سريعة عن

The region around the Lac des Taillères is a paradise for nature lovers and offers numerous different activities. The idyllic lake has a maximum depth of seven metres and flows underground to the Areuse. The lake in the high mountain valley of La Brévine is fed by subterranean springs and rainwater. After Lake Neuchâtel, the picturesque Lac des Taillères is the second-largest lake in the canton of Neuchâtel, and it is also the largest lake to be situated entirely in one canton.

The valley of La Brévine is known as the “Siberia of Switzerland” because of its frequent low winter temperatures and is where the absolute coldest temperature was recorded in Switzerland, at -41.8°C. In winter, the high valley offers ideal conditions for icy temperatures, especially with cloudless skies. A unique experience, especially during the Fête du Froid, which takes place every year in February.
