After gaining experience at some of London’s top restaurants, Gilles Varone decided to return to Switzerland to fulfill a dream: opening his own fine-dining restaurant in his hometown, nestled in the heart of the Valais mountains.
Through an intimate film, the documentary chronicles this extraordinary journey: from his years in London to the restaurant’s opening, including the challenges, encounters, and accolades that mark the young chef’s path.
Offering a deep dive into a demanding and exciting profession, this immersive experience takes viewers behind the scenes of fine dining, revealing the chef’s philosophy and the steps that shape exceptional cuisine.
More than just a portrait, the film invites viewers to experience firsthand the journey of a young chef from Valais who chose to make his roots the starting point for a grand project.
