COLLABORATION GIANADDA
Panoramica
Introduzione
RODIN
Swiss cultural institution located in Martigny, it was created in memory of Pierre Gianadda by his brother Léonard Gianadda, Swiss engineer, journalist and patron of the arts. Inaugurated in 1978, it is now an internationally renowned museum and cultural center. In Paris in 1880, at the age of 40, Auguste Rodin finally received his first commission from the French State: La Porte de L'Enfer, a series of figurines including the Baiser and the Penseur, which would become his most famous works. He shared his life with Rose, his lifelong companion, when he met the young Camille Claudel, his most gifted pupil, who quickly became his assistant and then his mistress. Ten years of passion, but also ten years of shared admiration and complicity. After their break-up, Rodin pursued his work relentlessly. He faced both the rejection and the enthusiasm that the sensuality of his sculpture provoked, and with his Balzac, rejected during his lifetime, he signed the undisputed starting point of modern sculpture. At the age of 60, finally recognized, he became the most famous sculptor alongside Michelangelo.
