Rugged badlands and bizarre rock formations, as well as a bracing climate, define the landscape in the border area between Valais and Vaud. The mighty Grand-Muveran with its 800-meter high rock face presides over the region. Even Ferdinand Hodler was impressed by this view and immortalized it in his painting.
