The saxophone and accordion engage in a thrilling dialogue between classical and jazz: What happens when these two instruments share the stage? Tango—perhaps. Jazz—also a possibility. Or something entirely unique. Joel Schmidt brings fresh inspiration from his jazz background, to which Bettina Herzog-Buchmann responds with classical sophistication. As a result, their shared repertoire is constantly growing. It’s shaped by original compositions, sophisticated arrangements, improvisation, and folk music from around the world.
