Intro

The Marbach Foodie Tour is a somewhat different discovery tour that is sure to tickle your tastebuds.

The tour begins at the Marbachegg gondola lift station. From here, it is an easy walk through “Bühl” to the Lourdes Grotto, an oasis of tranquility well worth a visit. The path continues alongside the Steiglenbach brook to the Marbach Alpine Dairy, the first stop on the Marbach Foodie Tour. Alongside a delicious aperitif from the cheese cellar, guests will be given the opportunity to stop by the visitors’ gallery for an insight into how different cheese varieties are made using cow’s and buffalo’s milk.

After this fortification, the trail continues along the Schonbach brook and on to the Hotel Sporting, where kitchen staff will cook an “authentic Entlebuch” lunch for guests.

After the delectable lunch and a little rest, the next stage of the walk is leisurely. The panoramic gondola lift will take you up to Marbach’s very own sun terrace. Here, the Berggasthaus Marbachegg awaits with dessert and coffee or tea amidst splendid views.

Those who wish can walk back down to the starting point. Alternatively, those who are feeling a little full can hop on the gondola lift back down into the village.
