바젤의 주민들에게 “졸리(Zolli)”라는 이름으로 널리 알려진 이 동물원은 1874년에 문을 열었으며 수많은 토종 동물 및 외국 동물이 살고 있다.
바젤(Basel) 동물원은 연중 언제라도 인기가 많고 방문해 볼 만한 가치가 있는 곳이다. 여름엔 야외에서 산책하기 이상적인 장소이고, 겨울엔 많은 애니멀 하우스에서 다양한 동물들을 가까이서 만나볼 수 있다. 수중세계를 탐험하고 싶다면 수중생물 사육장을 방문해보자. 최근 다시 지어진 사자 우리 “감고아스(Gamgoas)”와 원숭이 집은 특히 추천할 만한 곳이다.
