Intro

The first person to climb it was an Austrian named Ludwig von Welden. The Ludwigshöhe, the southernmost four-thousander in Switzerland, can be climbed over a range of challenging routes.

Самое главное

Ludwigshöhe is also one of the ten four-thousanders in total that belong to the Monte Rosa massif. This mountain, which sits in the shadow of the Signalkuppe, is the southernmost peak in Switzerland. Anyone wanting to take a somewhat easier route up the Ludwigshöhe can do so across the firn snow. If you’re looking for something a little more exhilarating, you can take on the steep rock face on the southeast side up to the summit at 4,341 metres above sea level. It was first climbed by an Austrian named Ludwig von Welden in 1822.

Climbing four-thousander summits requires good physical health, meticulous preparation and technical skills in mountain sports. We recommend booking a mountain guide. Switzerland Tourism accepts no liability in this case.
