Эту удивительную часовню под открытым небом построил знаменитый архитектор Марио Ботта. В часовне Санта-Мария-дельи-Анджели можно увидеть работы современного художника Энцо Куччи.
От подножья горы Ченери поезд доставит вас на высоту 1530 м над уровнем моря. Владелец этой железнодорожной ветки пригласил знаменитого архитектора Марио Ботту, чтобы тот построил часовню в память о его покойной жене. В качестве места строительства Ботта выбрал Альп Фоппу – с 1985 года здесь стояла статуя Мадонны, благословленная самим Папой Римским. Часовня Санта-Мария-дельи-Анджели, помимо всего прочего, является уникальной смотровой площадкой.
Полуторачасовая пешая прогулка приведет вас из Альп Фоппы на гору Тамаро, откуда открывается великолепная панорама. Еще один знаменитый маршрут – четырехчасовая прогулка по хребту к горе Лема.

Gondola ride (10 minutes)
Get into the panorama cabin and ride from the Rivera valley station to Alpe Foppa. On the way you will feel through the large windows in the middle of the nature of the surrounding mountain landscape. After a 10-minute ride, you will reach the mountain station with a sun terrace and a view of Bellinzona, Lake Lugano and Lake Maggiore.
- Good to know: Tickets can be purchased online in advance to avoid waiting times.
- Tip: Visit the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli by Mario Botta at the top station.
Adventure on Alpe Foppa
Action-packed activities await you on Alpe Foppa. Whizz down the 800-metre-long toboggan run at up to 50 kilometres per hour. On the 440-metre-long Tyrolienne you fly over the slope at 60 kilometres per hour. And in the rope park at the middle station, you can climb between ancient beech trees.
- Good to know: Age limits apply to children: Toboggan run from 3 years, Tyrolienne from 9 years.
- Tip: There are inexpensive combined tickets with the gondola lift for all activities.
High-altitude hike to Monte Lema (4–5 hours)
Start at Alpe Foppa and hike over the summit of Monte Tamaro (1962 m above sea level). M.) to Monte Lema. The high-altitude trail runs close to the border with Italy and almost exclusively on the ridge. From the top you have a view of Lake Lugano and Lake Maggiore. A shuttle bus will take you from Monte Lema back to Rivera.
- Good to know: Mountain hiking trails require surefootedness and good footwear.
- Tip: Take the gondola lift before 10 am to have enough time for the hike.
