Every summer in July, the Festival de la Cité keeps spirits high with the varied programme that it brings to Lausanne's old town.

Opened in 1841, the Vaud Museum of Fine Arts in Lausanne is one of the oldest museums in Switzerland exclusively dedicated to art. The museum presents several temporary exhibitions each year from its collection of 10,000 works.

This magnificent country park boasts one of the best vantage points in Lausanne. But the panoramic views are by no means the only attribute that attracts visitors. There is a tree here that is worth a visit all on its own. This is a unique weeping willow, situated some 50 metres from the manor house, that was planted in the middle of the 19th century.

The bell tower of the Gothic cathedral, high on the hill on which the Old Town is built, is home to the city’s most enigmatic resident.

In Western Switzerland, the scavenger hunt is available in Lausanne and Jura. The fox invites you to search for tricky clues in both the Olympic capital and the hilly Jura. Participants must have all their wits about them and use various means of transport to keep up with the fox.

What could be nicer than rounding off a warm summer evening in one of Lausanne’s terrace bars? There are plenty of trendy bars to choose from in this town on the shores of Lake Geneva.

تتمتع المدينة القديمة لوزان بوجود أبنية فخمة يعود تاريخها إلى العصور الوسطى مثل الكاتدرائية الشهيرة نوتردام، وإن المدينة الساحرة على ضفاف بحيرة جنيف لديها الكثير لتقدمه خلافاً لذلك أيضاً، فعلى سبيل المثال هنالك قطار الجبال تحت الأرض الأول في سويسرا.

يستضيف القصر المخصص لمتحف الإرميتاج معارض فنية متبدلة، إلا أن ما يبقى فيه هو ذلك المنظر الرائع المطل على بحيرة جنيف وكاتدرائية نوتردام، وهو ذلك المشهد الذي ألهم قريحة الفنان كاميل كوروت الذي كان يهتم برسم اللوحات الزيتية للمناظر الطبيعية الخلابة.
