يستضيف القصر المخصص لمتحف الإرميتاج معارض فنية متبدلة، إلا أن ما يبقى فيه هو ذلك المنظر الرائع المطل على بحيرة جنيف وكاتدرائية نوتردام، وهو ذلك المشهد الذي ألهم قريحة الفنان كاميل كوروت الذي كان يهتم برسم اللوحات الزيتية للمناظر الطبيعية الخلابة.

في عام 1841 قام المصرفي تشارلز جستي بانيون بشراء قطعة أرض في لوزان وبنى عليها قصراً منيفاً، فقام الفنان كاميل كوروت بتخليد المشهد الذي يشرف عليه القصر والذي ويشمل بحيرة جنيف وكاتدرائية نوتردام التي تمثل أهم صرح سويسري بني على الطريقة القوطية من خلال إحدى لوحاته الزيتية.

وفي عام 1976 تنازل أحفاد بانيون عن المبنى وعن جزء من الحديقة لصالح مدينة لوزان، وفي الوقت ذاته ظهرت مؤسسة خاصة كانت تعنى باقتناء اللوحات الزيتية التي رسمها فنانون قدماء ومعاصرون من مقاطعة فاود بالإضافة إلى اهتمامها بأعمال الفنانين الأجانب سواء القدماء منهم أو المعاصرين وعلى رأسهم بوسيون وديغاس وماغريت وأودوت وبلازوتا، ولهذا كانت المؤسسة تنظم معرضين أو ثلاثة معارض كبيرة بالسنة وكانت تلك المعارض تحظى باهتمام على المستوى العالمي.
