From Reichenau, the confluence of the Vorderrhein- and Hinterrhein (Upper and Lower Rhine), the path leads along the Vorderrhein into the wild Rhine Gorge. It takes you to Trin Station and the 100-meter long suspension bridge across the Rhine.

This hike is the classic route in the Stockhorn region. On the diverse route you can enjoy special, exciting views. The start and end of the route are the mountain and middle stations of the Stockhornbahn railway.

Fossils up to 240 million years old – often in perfect condition – are concealed in this mountain. Some of the most important finds can be admired in the Fossil Museum in Meride.

The superb panoramic mountain of San Salvatore is one of Lugano’s landmarks. The hike from the summit through chestnut forests along the banks of the lake to Morcote is a true classic.

This trail leads you from the idyllic Kreuzbogen lake and the colourful Alpine flower trail via the romantic Almageller valley to Almagelleralp, and along the adventure trail to Furggstalden; the Almagelleralp mountain trail is unrivalled in the scenic variety it offers.

Towering 1,679 metres above sea level, Mont Tendre is the highest peak in the Swiss Jura and offers superlative 360-degree panoramic views.

The lakeside path leads along some of the loveliest Ostschweiz shoreline – and plenty of waterfowl can be observed at the Wurmsbach and Busskirch nature reserves. Several public bathing and sport areas are also discovered underway.

Anyone wanting a leisurely hike against the current is in the right place. The trail follows the Broye upstream and is virtually flat. The fortress in Lucens is impressive. With Moudon, it provided strategic control of the valley in the Middle Ages.

This hike passes through the Tectonic Arena Sardona world heritage site and offers pristine natural scenery and views into the Linth valley. Parts of this trail are bordered by a grotesque looking former pine forest, which was destroyed by bark beetles.

Through the refreshingly cool gorge on the Urnersee lake - along the lakeshore road to Risleten and a climb through the attractive Risletenschlucht gorge. Crossing of the Stützberg along the historic path to Volligen and arrival in Rütli, with views down to the Urnersee lake.

The Gantrisch Panoraweg Path offers a scenic pre-Alps hike with many spectacular viewpoints. The tour takes place on a well structured and signposted hiking path – and is a tour suitable for undertaking in stages.

The Via Alpina crosses 14 of the most beautiful Alpine passes. Straight through six Swiss cantons with a vast variety of culture, geology and topography. Wide roads end in high ridge trails. The route is lined with one of the world’s most diverse variety of flora and fauna.

A high altitude path through the cratered landscape of the «Gryden» and along through the Wallbach gorge. The hike from Betelberg down into the village of Lenk leads through an area of diverse vegetation, from the stony Gryden and agricultural alpine farms to the forests of the Wallbach gorge.

Discover the courtship rituals of black cocks, and with some luck and a sharp eye, observe mountain wildlife on the steep slopes. Equipped with binoculars and a backpack, you'll follow a ranger who knows exactly where the wild things are in the Niederbauen region.

Through mountain forests, across upland pastures and along smugglers’ paths high above the Val Poschiavo from San Romerio via Viano to Italian Roncaiola. Descent through vineyards to Tirano. Appealing Alpine town with an eventful history and southern charm.

With the French in pursuit, Suvorov's troops marched southwards in snowfall towards Elm. The easy hike leads to Schwanden alongside the river Linth and then partly above, partly along, the river Sernf via Engi and Matt to Elm.

Very varied, contoured route via Neuburg, Hochwacht Mammern and the Klingszell pilgrimage church, to Stein am Rhein. En route: picturesque views of the end of the Untersee with the old town of Stein, Insel Werd and Hohenklingen Castle.

Starting point and destination of this 48km hiking loop is Wergenstein. For three days one is not only close to pristine flora, but also to a rich fauna: the Safien-Rheinwald region between Piz Beverin and Alp Alperschäli is populated by a large ibex colony with 380 animals. If you are lucky, you can observe male and female ibex and their young.
