에스미타주 재단(Hermitage Foundation)의 빌라는 계속 변화되는 미술 전시를 하고 있는 유일한 곳이다. 영구히 변하지 않는 것은 제네바 호수와 노트르-담 성당(Notre-Dame Cathedral)의 웅장한 경관이며, 이렇게 아름다운 경관은 경치를 주로 그렸던 선구적인 화가 카미유 코로(Camille Corot)에 영감을 주었다.
1841년 은행가 샤를-쥐스트 부기뇽(Charles-Juste Bugnion)은 로잔 위에 있는 부지를 매입하고 이 곳에 저택을 지었다. 저택으로부터 제네바 호수와 스위스에서 가장 중요한 고딕양식의 건물인 노르트-담 성당까지 이르는 경관은, 카미유 코로의 작품에 의해 영원히 전해지게 되었다.
1976년 부기뇽의 상속자들은 도시 로잔의 공원의 일부와 건물을 기증하였다. 이와 동시에, 과거 혹은 현지대의 보 주에서 활동하는 화가들뿐만 아니라 보시옹(Bocion), 드가(Degas), 마그리트(Magritte), 우도(Oudot)와 플라쪼타(Plazzotta )등과 같은 과거 및 현시대의 외국 화가들에 의해 창작된 회화작품들을 소장하고 있는 개인 재단을 설립하였다. 매년 재단에서는 국제적인 중요성을 가진 2-3개의 거대 전시회를 조직하고 있다.
웅장한 공원 부지에 자리한 레스토랑 에스키스(Esquisse)는 개인 투어 참여자들에게 “예술과 요리”라는 이름의 훌륭한 브런치를 내놓는다.

The farm, which adjoins the museum, is made up of various modular spaces, including the L’Esquisserestaurant, whose catering service offers personalised menus to delight your taste buds. The magical setting of the Fondation de l’Hermitage makes it a perfect venue for private events.
