Intro

A very striking and popular four-thousander on the Bern–Valais cantonal border. It can be easily recognised by its peak, which looks a little like a shark’s fin.

Finsteraarhorn (4,274m a.s.l.) w skrócie

When looking out over the Bernese Alps, your gaze is almost automatically drawn to the Finsteraarhorn. With its striking shape that looks like a shark fin, the peak really stands out, dominating the mountain panorama. Thanks to the Finsteraarhorn Hut and the Oberaarjoch Hut, the mountain’s highest point can be reached via several different routes. The normal route takes climbers from the Grimsel Pass over the southwest flank and the northwest ridge up to the summit, which is 4,274 metres above sea level and is situated on the Bern–Valais cantonal border.
