The road that rises from Vich leads through the romantic wine village of Begnins and on to St George. At Col du Marchairuz, the sweeping view of Vaud, Lake Geneva and the Alps reaches all the way to mighty Mont Blanc. Then it’s time to flick off the music and wind down the window for soul-soothing scenery on the gentle descent through sun-dappled forests and green meadows. The watchmaking Vallée du Joux keeps track of time, while Lac du Joux is inviting for a refreshing dip.
