Urban and Contemporary Dance Performance

ADDICT – When Addiction Takes Control: Alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, screens, junk food… Addictions take many forms. Some are obvious, others more subtle, but all can gradually alter our relationship with ourselves, with others, and with our freedom. With ADDICT, the Parallel Company presents a choreographic work blending contemporary and urban dance to explore the mechanisms of addiction—from temptation to loss of control, through isolation, inner struggle, and the hope of breaking free.Through a series of choreographed scenes, the dancers bring these often-invisible emotions and struggles to life. Without judgment or moralizing, the performance invites the audience to feel, reflect, and see addiction in a new light.A powerful and accessible artistic creation that reminds us that beyond addiction, there is always a human being, a story, and the possibility of regaining one’s freedom.****Director: Letitia Chesaux—Urban dance instructor, founder, and director of Let’s Dance Studio in Monthey for the past 23 seasons. Her training has been shaped by the world of urban dance, through practice, teaching, and continuing education. She trained in Switzerland and abroad, notably in New York, Los Angeles, and for three years at the Urban Dance Academy in Parma, Italy. She has also participated in various workshops through Danse Suisse. This training is complemented by extensive hands-on experience in teaching, managing a school and its teaching staff, choreographing, and directing performances—particularly those by Let’s Dance Studio presented at the Théâtre du Crochetan. At Compagnie Parallel, she serves as artistic director and stage director. For ADDICT, she also wrote the script and contributed to the choreography. The show was created in collaboration with choreographers Antony B. Lagrange and Lilla Emodi, as well as Faustine Moret, who provided an outside perspective.ADDICT has already been presented in 2025 in Saint-Maurice, at the Belle Usine in Fully, and for students at the Monthey School of Business and General Education.
