Thomas Silvestri (piano, arr. & comp.) and Carles Peris (tenor sax, soprano sax, flute) will launch their second CD, “TU,” with a concert.
For many years, the musical paths of Schaffhausen-based pianist and composer Thomas Silvestri and Barcelona-born saxophonist Carles Peris have repeatedly crossed. Starting in 2022, they began meeting more often to make music as a duo. They clicked instantly as a duo.
At the end of 2023, they recorded their first duo CD, “Thomas Silvestri Carles Peris: JazzArtDuo.” Now their second CD follows. The JazzArtDuo’s music consists almost exclusively of original compositions by jazz pianist Thomas Silvestri and falls within the realm of contemporary acoustic jazz. Captivating, original themes—sometimes lyrically open, sometimes featuring bubbling, rhythmic passages—define his compositions. Intense duo jazz with poetry and wit from two seasoned improvisers.

The Haberhaus in Schaffhausen is expanding its cultural offerings with a new concert series on the Haberhaus stage. “Jazz & Cheese” invites you to enjoy a delightful fusion of music and cuisine on a Thursday evening. The idea behind it: to provide a stage for regional artists from the fields of jazz, crossover, and related genres—accompanied by select cheese delicacies from Chäsmarili.
