On display are works by Joseph von Moos, Irma Stadelmann, Hans-Rudolf Ambauen, Irma Ineichen, and Peter Ryser, among others.
The Lucerne Museum is presenting, for the first time, a selection from the cantonal art collection, which it acquired in September 2025. Under the title “Visible! Animals from the Art Depot,” the museum at Pfistergasse 24 is showcasing 24 works that explore animal motifs in a variety of ways. The presentation aligns with the 2026 annual theme “Making Visible” and references the special exhibition “Invisible? Animals in Hiding,” which will be on view at the Museum Luzern from June 12, 2026, through February 21, 2027. Many of the works on display were previously stored in the depot and thus not accessible to the public.
The works adorn the foyer wall at the Pfistergasse building in a colorful salon-style arrangement. Rather than being organized chronologically or by style, they are grouped thematically. It is precisely the diversity of the works that makes the exhibition so appealing: paintings, prints, a glass mosaic, and even macramé come together in a vibrant mix.
