On August 1st, Switzerland celebrates its National Day – and this special event is also celebrated in Leukerbad with a lively program on the mountain and in the village.
On August 1st, Switzerland celebrates its National Day – and this special event is also celebrated in Leukerbad with a lively program on the mountain and in the village. The festive atmosphere is tangible throughout Leukerbad – from the first rays of sunshine on the summit to the fireworks in the evening against the impressive backdrop of the Gemmi Wall.

4:00 a.m. Sunrise hike to Torrenthorn
9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Brunch at the panoramic restaurant Rinderhütte on Torrent
9:30 a.m. Church service at the parish church in Leukerbad
2:00 p.m. Festive speech by Roger Büchel at the village square
