Originally a private landscape garden, the City Park is today the largest contiguous green space in the St. Gallen inner city area. With its lawned areas under beautiful old trees, it is the epitome of a peaceful oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city. It is surrounded by Theater St. Gallen, the Museum of Art, and the Historical and Folklore Museum.

Around 8,000 plant species from all over the world thrive on the two hectares of the Botanical Gardens at Stephanshorn, St. Gallen. Special features include the Tropical House, with its rainforest plants, succulents and orchids, and the architecturally remarkable Alpine House.

A Trilha da Maçã e o percurso a pé pela vila atestam a importância da fruticultura na agricultura de Altnau. Pelo menos 24 painéis de informação com quebra-cabeças, brincadeiras e perguntas sobre variedades de maçãs transmitem conhecimentos valiosos sobre a região de cultivo e a fruta em si. Ittingen Charterhouse, a former Carthusian monastery with more than 850 years of history, is one of the most important cultural sites in the region.
