Behind the unadorned concrete façade of the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein museum of art, visitors meander through spacious rooms where the light penetrating through the ceiling sets both modern and contemporary in the best of light. And since the opening of the Hilti Art Foundation right next door, one could well say that visits here are twice as enjoyable for art lovers.

St. Gallen has so much to offer when it comes to museums. Attractive, internationally renowned exhibitions and countless historic collections make for a diverse museum landscape. The open art Museum is particularly worth a visit.

The Art Museum St.Gallen offers an attractive programme of exhibitions of international significance and as a treasure trove of exhibits from Eastern Switzerland is home to a rich collection of paintings and sculptures from the late Middle Ages to the present.

The Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen is the most famous nature destination in Switzerland. Huge masses of water plunge down the rocks. You can experience the spectacle from Laufen Castle, from viewing platforms or on a boat trip.

Grown-ups and children alike love the XXL 18-hole golf-course on the ostrich farm in Mörschwil. Amid the sheep and the ostriches, the idea is to use the oval-ended irons to putt the balls through various obstacles. Whoever manages it in the fewest attempts is named the winner!

Traditions such as the “Silvesterchläuse”, Alpine cattle drive, mountain farming, home life and string music form the focus of the museum, where visitors are encouraged to play their part. The museum also offers an insight into the typical domestic culture of Alpine farming and traditional handicraft workshops.

The adventure trail in the Giant Forest near Elm stimulates one’s motor skills, senses and awareness of nature. Heaps of fun awaits at Martin’s Hole.

Not just children enjoy the fast-paced descent in Braunwald Forest. Adults also reach the bottom invigorated from the rush and like to start all over again from the top.

The “Time Travel with Wurz and Zirp” themed trail was opened in summer 2020 as a family hike through Liechtenstein’s history.
