Intro

This is the highest peak in the canton of Graubünden. Piz Bernina stands out due to its almost freestanding nature and as a result also offers unique far-reaching views from its summit.

Piz Bernina (4,049m a.s.l.)の概要

At 4,049 metres above sea level, Piz Bernina only barely qualifies as a four-thousander peak. In terms of its beauty and impact however, it surpasses many other mountains of around the same height. It stands out from the surrounding landscape as the highest mountain in the canton of Graubünden. Thanks to its dominating character, keen mountain climbers have outstanding far-reaching views from the top. The Tschierva Hut and Boval Hut serve as ideal starting points. The Morteratsch Glacier and the Tschierva Glacier stretch out across the north side of Piz Bernina.
