Intro
The cable car up to Klein Matterhorn will make the ascent to Roccia Nera significantly easier. This peak is seldom climbed for itself, but rather as a way of accessing other climbs.

The Breithornkamm high above Zermatt in Valais ends with Roccia Nera in the east. This peak, 4,075 metres above sea level, is often almost overlooked by those crossing the Breithorn massif. This is much to the delight of all those who do make it up to the very top of Roccia Nera – and often have the breathtaking views all to themselves. The ascent is a relatively easy one, and the cable car up to Klein Matterhorn, which can then be used as a starting point, makes it even easier.
