Kolekcja Beyelera dzięki budynkowi muzeum zaprojektowanemu przez Renzo Piano w 1997 roku została udostępniona szerokiej publiczności.
Dzięki ok. 230 dziełom małżeństwo Hildy i Ernsta Beyelerów dokumentuje sztuką czasy XX wieku i przekazuje malarskie aspekty klasycznego modernizmu, od Moneta, Cézanne'a i van Gogha przez Picassa do Warhola, Lichtensteina i Bacona. Prace klasycystycznego modernizmu przeciwstawione są obiektom sztuki wytworzonym przez plemiona z Afryki, Oceanii i Alaski.
Wstęp wolny na wystawy z regionalnym biletem muzealnym.
