Information
Description
Ambience:
The German writer Carl Zuckmayer, honorary citizen of Saas-Fee, used to walk nearly every day for many years through the snowy forest of Saas-Fee to the Alpenblick. Today, an inscription on “his” seat bears witness to it. A large number of board games keep children entertained. Dogs are welcome, too: they get fresh water and their own blanket against the cold.
Location:
At a good vantage point at 2,030 metres, at the edge of a forest with gnarled larch trees and Swiss stone pines and half way between Hannigalp and Saas-Fee. There is no need to worry about speeding skiers as the area below Hannigalp is restricted to winter hikers solely.
Cuisine:
Simple and good: Valais cheese on toast, dried meat platter, barley soup, Alpine macaroni, Rösti with fried egg, cheese fondue, homemade fruit cakes, apple strudel and nut gateau.
Good to know:
Staffed mountain restaurant
Open daily during the day.
